Our Story
Shady Oaks Country Club is a Public Golf Course that offers a unique and challenging 18-hole layout where accuracy off the tee and accurate approach shots are rewarded. At 6,212 yards from the tips, Shady Oaks doesn’t “appear” to be difficult, but don’t let the yardage fool you. The tight tree lined fairways and small sloped greens can take a toll on even the most patient golfers and make scoring very difficult.
Shady Oaks is open to the public and has 4 sets of tees for varying skill levels. There is a pro shop and bar serving sandwiches, snacks and beverages. Shady Oaks provides an Open Golf League on Tuesday evenings starting at 5:30 in the Spring and 6:00 PM in Summer. Outings are also welcomed.
If you have children that would like to play, we have 10 sets of Junior Clubs for their use “Free” and Children 13 and under play free with paying adult or member.
Open to the public: Call 815-849-5424

Our Course
Shady Oaks may not appear difficult on paper, and at 6,200 yards from the tips it doesn’t measure up with the monsters being built today. What Shady Oaks lacks in length, it makes up for in character. It’s tree lined fairways and small sloped greens can take a toll on your mental game and make scoring very difficult. A driver off the tee is certainly not a given and accurate short irons and a hot putter are a must to conquer this beautiful layout.
